Group Owner Setup

Turn Your Telegram Group Into a Gaming Server

Every Telegram group can become a multiplayer DegensQuest server. Add one bot, and your community can play real-time games, earn XP and QUEST, climb leaderboards, and receive live on-chain alerts — without anyone leaving Telegram.

This guide walks a group owner through the whole setup. It takes about five minutes.

Step 1: Add @degensquestbot and Make It an Admin

  1. Open your group, tap the group name → Add Members, and add @degensquestbot.
  2. Promote it to Administrator: tap the group name → AdministratorsAdd Admin → select @degensquestbot.

Why admin? The bot needs admin rights to run games properly. As an admin it can:

  • Post and edit game messages — lobbies, question rounds, HP bars, and live scoreboards.
  • Read group membership — to verify who is in the group (used by the join gate and member-only quests).
  • Pin results and leaderboards so they stay visible in a busy chat.

When the bot is added, it posts a short intro message and automatically switches on its two highest-signal alerts (Whale Moves and Hook Fee Distributions) for the group. You can change these any time — see Step 4.

Tip: You don’t need to grant every permission. “Delete messages” and “Pin messages” are the most useful; the bot never needs “Add new admins.”

Step 2: Start Your First Game

DegensQuest ships with seven group games. Any member can start one by sending its command in the group:

CommandGamePlayers
/triviaTrivia Quest — real-time multiple-choice2–50
/mafiaSocial Deduction (Mafia) — hidden roles + voting5–20
/raidGuild Raid — co-op boss battle3–30
/predictionPrediction Market — bet $DEGEN on outcomes2–100
/reactionReaction Rounds — fastest tap wins2–20
/degenwheelDegen Wheel — press-your-luck spinner1–100
/rugpullRugpull Roulette — dodge the vault that rugs1–100

How a lobby works

  1. A player sends a game command, e.g. /trivia. The bot opens a lobby and posts a Join button.
  2. Other members tap Join (or send /join) to enter. The player who started the game is joined automatically.
  3. The game starts when the lobby timer ends, or when the host force-starts it early with /startgame. (Some games, like Guild Raid, kick off on the first /attack.)
  4. The bot runs every round, tracks scores server-side, and posts a final leaderboard with XP and QUEST awards.

In-match commands surface in the group menu while a game is live:

  • /attack — strike the boss in a Guild Raid.
  • /vote <@handle> — vote to lynch during the Mafia day phase.
  • /resolve <yes|no> — the host resolves a prediction.
  • /endgame — the host or a group admin ends the current game.

See the Games section for full rules, scoring, and strategy for each game.

Step 3: Players Earn XP, QUEST, and Climb the Leaderboards

Every game action rewards players, and progress is shared across your whole community:

  • XP raises each player’s level and Battle Pass tier and unlocks achievements.
  • $DEGEN is the in-game soft currency earned from games and quests — used for prediction bets, the marketplace, and the curation boost.
  • QUEST is the on-chain ERC-20 reward on Base, funded by the Uniswap v4 Hook fee flywheel. Players connect a wallet to receive it.
  • Guild XP — your group is a Guild. XP from games adds to the Guild’s total, unlocking Guild tiers and raid bonuses.

Players go deeper in the Mini App — leaderboards, profiles, quests, the Battle Pass, and the marketplace:

  • Inside Telegram: the bot’s Play Now / Open App buttons launch the Mini App at tg.degensquest.xyz (built for Telegram’s in-app webview).
  • Full browser app: app.degensquest.xyz — the wide dashboard, wallet connection, and staking.

Members can check their standing from the chat at any time with /status.

Step 4: Switch On Live Alerts

DegensQuest can broadcast live on-chain and season events straight into your group. Manage them with the alerts commands (group admins only):

CommandWhat it does
/alertsOpen the alerts menu and toggle each type on/off with buttons
/subscribe <type>Turn one alert type on
/unsubscribe <type>Turn one alert type off
/setwhale <amount>Set this group’s whale threshold (in whole QUEST)

There are four alert types:

TypeBroadcasts
whaleLarge QUEST moves above your whale threshold (on by default)
feesUniswap v4 Hook protocol-fee distributions (on by default)
transfersNotable QUEST transfers on Base
leaderboardSeason leaderboard shake-ups

Example: to only get whale moves above 25,000 QUEST:

/subscribe whale
/setwhale 25000

The official channel: for ecosystem-wide alerts without configuring your own group, follow @DegensQuestAlerts. It carries the same whale, fee, transfer, and leaderboard feeds for the whole community.

Step 5: Quests & the Marketplace

Beyond games, players complete quests — Daily, Epic, and Legendary missions in the Quest Marketplace — to earn XP, $DEGEN, items, and partner rewards. Quests span social, DeFi, gaming, learning, creator, and partner categories.

As a community leader you can also run your own quests: register as a sponsor or creator and launch a campaign (for example, “Join our Telegram” or “Complete a swap”), funded from your budget and escrow.

Where to Get Help

That’s it — your group is now a DegensQuest gaming server. Start a /trivia round and welcome your community to the trenches. ⚔️
