Trivia Quest

Trivia Quest is a real-time multiple-choice trivia game playable in any Telegram group. Players race to answer questions faster and more accurately than their opponents, with speed bonuses and streak multipliers amplifying scores for the sharpest minds.

How to Start

After the command, the bot opens a 30-second lobby window so other players can join by tapping the Join button. The game starts automatically when the lobby closes.

Categories

Omit the category to receive a randomly selected mix of questions from all categories.

Difficulty Levels

Game Flow

1. Lobby (30 seconds)

The bot announces the game and posts a Join button. Players tap to enter. Minimum 2 players required to start. The host (command sender) is automatically joined.

2. Question Round

• The bot sends a question with four labeled answer options (A, B, C, D).
• Players have 15 seconds to tap their answer.
• Buttons are disabled after 15 seconds — late answers are not counted.
• Answer order is shuffled each round (A is not always the correct answer).

3. Reveal

• After 15 seconds (or when all players have answered), the bot reveals the correct answer.
• Updated scores are posted for the round.

4. Repeat

• Rounds continue for the configured number of questions (default: 10, configurable: 5–20).

5. Final Leaderboard

After the last question, the bot posts the final rankings with XP awards for all participants.

Scoring

Base Points (per correct answer)

• 100 points for any correct answer.

Speed Bonus (per round)

• Answer within 3 seconds: +50 points
• Answer within 6 seconds: +25 points
• Answer within 10 seconds: +10 points
• Answer after 10 seconds: no bonus

Streak Bonus

• +25 points for each correct answer in a consecutive streak.
• Example: 5 correct in a row = +125 bonus points applied to the 5th answer.
• A wrong answer resets the streak.

Difficulty Multiplier

All points (base + bonuses) are multiplied by the difficulty modifier:

• Easy: 1× | Medium: 2× | Hard: 3× | Expert: 5×

XP Rewards

Strategy & Tips

• Speed compounds. The fastest tier (+50 within 3 seconds) plus the streak bonus means an early, correct, confident answer is worth far more than a slow one. If you know it, commit immediately.
• Protect your streak. Each consecutive correct answer adds +25, and a single wrong answer resets the streak to zero. On a question you’re unsure of, a careful guess that keeps the streak alive is often worth more than rushing a wrong one.
• Play to the multiplier. All points scale by difficulty (Easy 1× → Expert 5×). If you’re strong in a category, the higher difficulties pay disproportionately — but only if your accuracy holds.
• Pick your category. Passing a category flag (/trivia crypto) lets specialists lean into their edge instead of taking a random mix.
• Read all four options. Answers are shuffled per player every round, so the correct choice is never a fixed letter. Don’t pattern-match on position.
• Stack a boost. A Double XP power-up doubles the XP from a strong run — best spent on a session where you expect to place well.

Anti-Cheat Measures

• Question pool randomization: Questions are drawn randomly from a large pool. No two games in the same session repeat questions.
• Answer shuffling: The A/B/C/D order is independently randomized for each player each round — the correct answer is not always the same letter.
• Server-side timing: Answer timing is measured from when the bot sends the question (server timestamp), not from when you see it. Network latency is accounted for.
• Bot detection: Statistically impossible response times (under 100ms) are flagged and excluded from speed bonuses.
